Solid recovered fuels. Methods for the determination of the trace elements (As, Ba, Be, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mo, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, Se, Tl, V and Zn)
Status: Effective - Introduced for the first time. IUS 2-2015
This standard applies to all types of solid fuels from household waste and establishes methods for determining the following trace elements: arsenic (As), barium (Ba), beryllium (Be), cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), chromium (Cr), copper ( Cu), mercury (Hg), molybdenum (Mo), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), antimony (Sb), selenium (Se), thallium (Tl), vanadium (V) and zinc ( Zn). This standard establishes three alternative methods for the decomposition of solid fuels from household waste: - Method A: decomposition of a sample of fuel in a microwave oven with a mixture of hydrofluoric, nitric and hydrochloric acids; - Method B: ashing the charge of the fuel with the subsequent decomposition of ash in a hot water bath with a mixture of hydrofluoric, nitric and hydrochloric acids; - Method B: decomposition of the fuel sample in the drying cabinet with a mixture of nitric, perchloric and hydrofluoric acids
